ABOUT ABOUT

Give yourself the gift of a weekend of depth, awareness, insight and empowerment.

This workshop will serve as a doorway into a new way to experience yourself. The bodymind skills you learn will carry forward into new ways of experiencing life, and access to new internal resources.

We all start this life in a body, and experience every life event through this body. Sensations, feelings, reactions and responses to life are all registered in and generated from our lived body experience. Many of us seek the magic of self-acceptance, self-compassion, non-attachment to the past and inner freedom. These do not occur separate from our embodied selves. They begin with deep embodied exploration. Being present with our humanness allows us to relax our vigilance, gain more emotional elasticity, engage creatively with life, untangle old patterns, see from new perspectives, rewrite our expectations, and meet our own deep yearnings. Then we can truly be the light we seek.

We will be using Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI) and elements of the Satir Transformational Systemic Model to explore and experience the body wisdom that we all have access to. SRI is a system of bodymind integration exercises. Each one addresses a different aspect of the human eperience. You will leave grounded in how each exercise works, what it could mean for you personally, and we will anchor how to use it in your daily life.  As the program unfolds, the group energy will help determine our final destination and the route we take.

This workshop will be presented by Anastacia Metcalf Lundholm, who has been teaching body-centered personal growth internationally for over 20 years. She has been teaching mostly abroad for the last several years, and this is a great opportunity to study with her without buying an international plane ticket! Her personal exploration has embraced many modalities and life experiences, and she brings her whole self to the creative task at hand. Her experience includes 20 years of teaching SRI on 5 continents, and 17 years on staff with WWS. She has studied the Satir Model since 2006 and has been guest faculty for the Satir intitute of the Pacific, and serves as adjunct faculty for Banmen Satir China Management Center and guest instructor for many other international Satir centers. Our local host is Dr. Lori Krauss of Network Chiropractic Center of Sedona.

Arriving

Flights

Fly into Phoenix and expect about a 2 hour drive to Sedona on Interstate route 17 North.

Fly into Flagstaff and expect a drive of 50 minutes via Route 89A.

Driving to Sights nearby

One option on your way from Phoenix is this Phoenix to Sedona road trip: drive for about 41 minutes, then stop in Cave Creek and stay for about 1 hour. Next, drive for another 1 hour then stop at Montezuma Castle National Monument and stay for 1 hour. It's a leisurely way to get there and feel like you've arrived to the landscape gradually.

Another option on your way from Phoenix is Black Canyon City. This small desert town sits 46 miles and about 45 minutes outside of Phoenix and hugs the western edge of the Tonto National Forest.

The Grand Canyon is just 117 miles away! if you've never seen it, it is definitely worth a side trip. As our event ends on Sunday March 1st at 1 pm, you'll have time! Or you could arrive earlier and go there for sunrise on the Friday February 28th, as we don't start registration that day until 1 pm.

Lodging Suggestions

Our venue is in West Sedona.

A hotel that is on or near route 89 A in West Sedona will be quite close. A search on hotels.com turned up 20 places to stay from $99-$250 per night that were all a half hour walk, or seven minutes drive, from the venue.

If you search for nearby landmarks, look for lodgings in the vicinity of the landmark Sunset Trail, West Sedona. The venue Seven Centers Yoga Arts is quite close to the trailhead, (which will make for fun exploring!)

Lodgings on route 179 in West Sedona will be about 10-12 minutes drive from the venue, and a little cheaper in price than the ones on route 89A.
